Job Description
The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting and financial activities of the textile unit, including purchase and sales accounting, inventory-related transactions, GST/TDS compliance, payroll support, bank reconciliation, and preparation of financial reports. The role requires accurate maintenance of books of accounts and coordination with management, suppliers, customers, auditors, and statutory authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain daily books of accounts and accounting records.
Record purchase, sales, expenses, receipts, and payments.
Handle accounting of raw materials, yarn, fabric, dyes, chemicals, packing materials, and finished goods.
Maintain inventory and stock reconciliation with production/store records.
Prepare and verify purchase and sales invoices.
Manage accounts payable and receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Perform bank reconciliation and cash/bank transaction management.
Assist in GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance.
Maintain vendor and customer ledgers and reconcile balances.
Coordinate with the production, purchase, stores, sales, and HR/payroll teams.
Track production-related costs and expenses and support cost analysis.
Prepare MIS reports, expense statements, outstanding reports, and monthly financial summaries.
Assist in salary/payroll processing and statutory deductions.
Support internal and statutory audit requirements and provide required documents.
Ensure proper filing and maintenance of vouchers, invoices, bills, and financial documents.
Identify accounting discrepancies and ensure timely correction.
Perform other accounting and financial duties assigned by management.
