Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining financial records, preparing reports, handling statutory compliance, and supporting management in financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records.
Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliation.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Manage invoicing, receipts, payments and expense records.
Perform bank, ledger and balance-sheet reconciliations.
Prepare MIS reports and financial statements for management.
Monitor cash flow, outstanding receivables and vendor payments.
Handle GST, TDS and other statutory accounting compliances.
Coordinate with auditors and provide required financial documents.
Verify purchase bills, sales invoices, expenses and supporting documents.
Ensure proper accounting entries and timely closure of books.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Identify accounting discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
Supervise junior accounting staff and review their work.
Coordinate with management, vendors, customers, banks and other departments.
Qualification
B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / equivalent qualification.
3–7 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
Good knowledge of Tally ERP/Tally Prime, MS Excel and accounting software.
Strong knowledge of GST, TDS and basic taxation.
Experience in finalization of accounts and financial reporting preferred.
